The Plant World of the Calusa: A View from Pineland

Description: The Calusa were among the most powerful, complex, and artistic Native Americans. If we try to imagine their world without plants, we quickly realize it would have been impossible without them. This lecture will discuss some of the plants that were used by the Calusa and how they were utilized based on archaeological information found at Pineland. Program by author Martha Kendall.
