“Five Centuries of Tradition: The Archaeology of Florida Crackers and Cattle Culture”
By the time Charles Goodnight and Nat Love were loping across America’s Wild West, Florida’s cattle culture was already centuries old. Spaniards and Pioneers, rugged Cow Hunters and Native American groups made adaptations to who they were and how they interacted with the world based a life following scrub cattle. Learn how this vital aspect of Florida’s economy and character developed and how archaeologists and historians are telling this unique and exciting story.
