Collier Co Museum presents: Pirate History of Southwest Florida

Time: 2:00 pm til 3:00 pm

Location: Collier County Museum, Naples

Description: Many legends remain about the history of piracy on the coast of Florida. This program will explain the local lore of pirates like Gasparilla and “Calico Jack” Rackam and the facts that surround them. We’ll also explore the differences between a pirate, a privateer, a buccaneer and a corsair. The Spanish Treasure Fleets that once sailed along the coast of SW Florida will also be discussed.
