Junior Archaeologists Discover FL's Ancient people

Location: South County Regional Library, Estero, FL

Description: “Discovering Florida’s Ancient People” - Who were the first people to live in Florida? All are long gone and most did not have written languages. How do we know what we know about those who have come before us? Archaeology is one way of understanding the past through the things that were left behind. Come learn about what archaeologists do and what sort of clues they study to understand what life was like for the very first Floridians! Try your hand at creating your own Native Floridian-style clay pot!

Learn all about what archaeologist do, the tools they use, where they can work, and how YOU can become one! Then take your new archaeology skills and excavate your own tasty archaeology site! Intrigued? Put on your thinking cap and we’ll solve the mystery together!
