Spring Break Archaeology Detectives: Twisted Experiments

Time: 1:00 pm til 2:00 pm

Location: Port Charlotte Public Library

Description: Spring Break Archaeology Detectives
Twisted Experiments: Experimental Archaeology and the Creation of Cordage

Archaeologists cannot interview prehistoric people and ask how they made the things they used. In order to learn about past technologies archaeologists attempt to create replications of artifacts, structures, and wear patterns, by using techniques and materials that may have been used in the past. The results help us know what life was like in the past for the people who came before us. Are you up for the task of recreating the past? Experience a technique and skill prehistoric peoples needed for everyday life: the creation of cordage!
