Tour de Fort

Time: 9:30 am til 11:30 am

Location: Fort Pickens, 1400 Fort Pickens, Pensacola Beach, Florida 32563

Description: Tour de Fort is a bicycling tour of the archaeological sites along the Florida National Scenic Trail near Fort Pickens as part of the national campaign Let’s Move Outside! We will visit several archaeological and historic sites (including forts used during the Civil War!) We will meet at the auditorium next to Fort Pickens for a short presentation and then head out! Total bike ride is approximately four miles in length. The tour will visit archaeological sites along the trail ride where we will learn about archaeology, history and ecology. Bring plenty of water, healthy snacks (apples, carrots, nuts, pretzels, dried fruit), sunscreen, sunglasses, your bicycle and helmet.

Archaeology Lab Volunteer Day

Time: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: FPAN Coordinating Center, 207 East Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32502

Description: The FPAN Archaeology Lab is open to volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers help rough sort artifacts recovered from local archaeological sites. No experience is needed, but all volunteers are given a brief orientation by a professional archaeologist their first day.
