Lecture: Florida's First People

Description: For more than 12,000 years Florida has played host to a complex collection of human cultures. From great mound complexes to the most ephemeral of camp sites, humans have left fascinating evidence of unique community structures within Florida’s diverse environments. Learn what archaeologists have uncovered throughout the state that helps them understand several of Florida’s major cultures.

Lecture: The Patriot and the Widow

Time: 5:30 pm til 6:30 pm

Location: Southwest Florida Museum of History, Fort Myers

Description: Southwest Florida author and naval historian Robert N. Macomber will share the touching story of “The Patriot and the Widow”, a pro-Union couple on Useppa Island and the sacrifices they made during the Civil War. Reservations required.
