Collier Co Museum presents: The Koreshan Unity of Southwest Florida

Time: 2:00 pm til 3:00 pm

Location: Collier County Museum, Naples

Description: The Koreshan Unity was a communal society that lived in southwest Florida during the late-1800s and early-1900s. Their eventual goal was to have a utopian community in which all were equal and had access to cultural and academic opportunities. Unfortunately, the group died out after a relatively short period of time after the death of their leader, Dr. Cyrus Reed Teed. However, the Koreshans did leave behind a rich history and legacy for visitors to Koreshan State Historic Site to enjoy and explore. Program by Andy Tetlow, Curator, Koreshan State Historic Site. Free admission. Reservations required. For more information, please call (239) 252-8738.
