Archaeology Paddle

Time: 9:00 am til 11:00 am

Location: pin Show Map Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area

Description: Interested in learning about the aquatic side of the ONA with a focus on Archaeology with the Florida Public Archaeology Network - Southeast Region.

A guided paddle through the Loxahatchee river mouth around to the most southern tip of the Indian River lagoon. The paddle path will encompass environmental, historical and archaeological knowledge of the ONA.

The paddle will be at a casual pace with multiple stops on the way. We will be on the water for around 2 hours so bring sunscreen and water!

Bring your own Kayak or paddle board, if not you can rent them at Jupiter Outdoor Center (561-747-0063) down the road.

Meet in the North parking lot of the ONA (located on the left just before going over the bridge to Jupiter Island) at 8:30am and one of the ONA staff will let you through the Gate and you can drive in and unload kayaks on the shore.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM PARKING LOT.

If you are renting you can either paddle across the intercoastal from JOC to the lighthouse shore, or strap it to the top of your car and drive in.

We will be meeting at 8:30 am in the parking lot and beginning the paddle at 9:00am giving us time to unload.
