Yo Solo: A Visit with Don Bernardo de Gálvez

Time: 7:30 pm til 8:30 pm

Location: Saenger Theatre in Pensacola, Florida

Description: Celebrating Pensacola’s rich Spanish heritage and commemorating Pensacola’s role in the American Revolution.

Professional actor Chaz Mena paints a vivid portrait of Gálvez and weaves a multi- textured tapestry of the colonial
town of Pensacola and its people. His Chautauqua- style performance takes the audience back in time as Gálvez
sweeps across the 18th century landscape of the Gulf Coast toward Pensacola. Envision Spanish ships poised at
the mouth of the bay and sense the tension of townspeople and the military as they prepare for an assault. Enter
the wood houses and gardens of the town and walk along the sandy roadways. The vivid recounting of the battle
transports the audience to the battlefield, linking the Spanish advance on Fort George and its forward redoubts to
the modern landscape of what is today the historic North Hill neighborhood.

The performance is free, however, tickets are required. If you or your organization would like
to obtain tickets, please contact The North Hill Preservation Association at: (850) 438-2156 or
www.historicnorthhill.com .
