4th Annual Archaeology Month Celebration Event

Time: 10:00 am til 2:00 pm

Location: FPAN Coordinating Center, 207 East Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32591

Description: Help celebrate Florida Archaeology Month!
Bring the whole family out to learn about archaeology and history. The event will feature exhibits from heritage and cultural organizations, tours of local museums including the Bearheart Native Path Mobile Museum and Destination Archaeology! Resource Center, and demonstrations including flint knapping and candle dipping. Hands-on activities and crafts include Atlatl spear throwing, coil pot making, model boat building, artifact rough sorting, and much more! Local archaeologists will be on hand to examine and identify artifacts from personal collections. The University of West Florida’s Graduate Anthropology Association will sell concessions throughout the day.

This event is hosted by Florida Public Archaeology Network and the University of West Florida.
