Prehistoric Plant Use in Florida

Time: 7:00 pm til 8:00 pm

Location: B. Calvin Jones Center for Archaeology at the Governor Martin House (1001 DeSoto Park Dr)

Description: This topic is perfect for Florida Archaeology Month this year, with the theme for this year being "Prehistoric Plant Use in Florida". Join Loran Anderson and Barbara Hines, RPA for a discussion on how plants we see every day in Florida were used by the Native Americans of this area. There will be a presentation and an open forum for questions and discussion. You may be surprised to find out how the plants you see every day were an integral part of life thousands of years ago! We will also talk about some of the myths associated with these native plants! This presentation is being hosted by the Panhandle Archaeological Society at Tallahassee.
