PAST meeting: Another Wakulla Springs Mastadon?

Time: 7:00 am til 8:00 pm

Location: B. Calvin Jones Center for Archaeology at the Governor Martin House (1001 DeSoto Park Dr)

Description: Join PAST as Kevin Porter, with the Bureau of Archaeological Resources discusses a recent find at Wakulla Springs State Park. A potential American mastodon discovered underwater in Florida’s Wakulla Springs may be the latest in a long line of Pleistocene megafauna discoveries that have helped to shape our current knowledge and understanding of the environmental and subsistence patterns of Paleoindians of southeast United States.
