Native Americans of the Nature Coast

Time: 10:30 am til 11:30 am

Location: Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park 4150 South Suncoast Boulevard Homosa

Description: Our modern landscape has been built atop the remains of past cultures along the Nature Coast. For nearly 15,000 years before Columbus, prehistoric people hunted and gathered, settled and grew – across what we now call Florida. Though we accept they were here, what do we really know about them?

In honor of Indigenous Peoples Day, please join Nigel Rudolph, an archaeologist with the Florida Public Archaeology Network, in a presentation and discussion about the lives and lifeways of the Native Americans who once called the Nature Coast home.
