Description: Archaeology On Tap presents Dr. Tom Pluckhahn of the University of South Florida who will be giving a talk entitled “Wonderful Things”: A History of the Crystal River Archaeological Site in Four Artifacts.

Crystal River State Park preserves one of the most famous archaeological sites in North America, occupied by Native Americans mainly during the first millennium CE. This talk explores the history of the site through four artifacts, showing how archaeologists think from things (artifacts) to understand people in the past, using a combination of scientific techniques and historical analogy.
