Silver River Knap-In and Stone Age Arts Festival

Time: 9:00 am til 4:30 pm

Location: Silver River State Park

Description: Expert flint knappers, archaeologists, potters, hide tanners, bow makers and other specialists in prehistoric skills will gather from across the eastern U.S. to demonstrate and sell their arts. Vendors will offer reproduction stone tools, raw stone, flint knapping tools, unique crafts, food and more. Please join the Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center at the Silver River State Park on March 2-3, 2013.

Presentation: “The Archaeology of Travelers, Feasts and Coalescent C

Time: 2:00 pm til 3:00 pm

Location: Florida Museum of Natural History, Powell Hall-3215 Hull Road- Gainesville, Florida

Description: Begin archaeology month with a presentation on North Florida archaeology by Neill J. Wallis, Ph.D., Assistant Curator of Archaeology, and displays on the archaeology of Florida. The presentation will be held at 2 p.m., Florida Museum of Natural History, Powell Hall-3215 Hull Road- Gainesville, Florida.
