Ocali Country Days

Time: 9:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: Silver River Museum & Environmental Education Center Ocala, Florida

Description: Explore the Florida frontier and meet characters from the past at the 2010 Ocali Country Days festival.

This popular annual festival features Florida history, folk art and food. Experience old time music, storytellers and meet historical demonstrators portraying life in Marion County during the 1800s. Learn about traditional crafts such as log cabin building, sugarcane syrup making, blacksmithing, quilting, spinning, weaving, woodworking, and more. Vendors will also offer unique crafts and food for sale.

While here, visit the Silver River Museum, ride our tram through the State Park, tour various encampments to meet trappers, soldiers and homesteaders, send a telegram at an authentic telegraph station, mine for fossils and gemstones or meet Seminole tribal members to learn about Native American culture in Florida. All proceeds from the festival support the educational programs at the Silver River Museum.
