Zoom into Archaeology: Bioarchaeology Climate Change and Resilience

Time: 3:30 pm til 4:30 pm

Location: Online; Central Time

Description: Join us for the next installment of FPAN's "Zoom into Archaeology" series: "The Bioarchaeology Climate Change and Resilience in Bronze Age Arabia" by by University of South Alabama Associate Professor Dr. Lesley Gregoricka!

The rapid aridification of southeastern Arabia at the end of the Umm an-Nar period (2700-2000 BCE) coincided with major changes in material culture and social organization. This lecture explores how isotopes from the skeletons of those interred in Bronze Age tombs from the Shimal Necropolis in the United Arab Emirates can be used to evaluate shifts in climate as well as subsequent impacts on human mobility patterns and dietary intake.

This presentation is most appropriate for teens and adults.
