Finding Balance on the Blackwater Kayak Tour

Time: 9:00 am til 11:00 am

Location: Bagdad Mill Site Park Kayak Launch, 6952 Cross Street, Milton, FL 32583

Description: Join the Florida Public Archaeology Network and Historic Pensacola as we co-host a kayak tour on Blackwater River! The "Balance on the Blackwater" tour will last approximately 2 hours and will feature a 1.6-mile kayaking route that explores the amazing ecology and history of just one small stretch of Blackwater River near Bagdad, Florida.

This event is open to the public, but RSVPs are required. Space is limited to 15 participants, so please e-mail ngrinnan@uwf.edu to reserve your spot. This tour is offered for free, but cash donations at the end of the tour are much appreciated and help us continue to offer other amazing learning opportunities!

Tour participants will meet at 9:00am at the Bagdad Mill Site Park Kayak Launch. We will have a short introduction and safety briefing, then launch our watercraft.

Although we recommend kayaks for this tour, any non-motorized watercraft is welcome (canoes, stand-up paddle boards, etc.). All participants must bring their own watercraft. This tour is recommended for ages 13+; participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
