Zoom into Archaeology: Talking Turpentine

Time: 3:30 pm til 4:30 pm

Location: Online; Central Time

Description: Join us for the next installment of FPAN's "Zoom into Archaeology" series: "Talking Turpentine: The Naval Industry in North Florida" by FPAN North Central and Northwest Region Director Barbara Clark!

Ever wonder what those weird notches are in pine trees or perhaps you have run across a mysterious stack of clay cups in the forest? Join us to learn about one of Florida's earliest and most prolific industries in Florida. We will discuss the economic impacts of the naval stores industry, its far reach, as well as the convict leasing system and other factors that contributed to the end of this bustling industry.

This presentation is most appropriate for teens and adults, but is family-friendly.
