Description: Join us for the next installment of FPAN's "Zoom into Archaeology" series: "14,500 Years in 30 Minutes" by UWF Department of Anthropology Associate Professor Dr. Ramie Gougeon!

This presentation will provide an overview of new interpretations of the precolumbian and early historic Southeast U.S. through the lens of recent archaeological research. From the timing of the peopling of the Southeast, to changes in our thinking about rituals and religion, to new insights about foodways, to new perspectives on the earliest contacts with Europeans, this fast-paced talk will get you up to speed on some of the latest discoveries in southeastern archaeology.
This presentation is most appropriate for teens and adults, but is family-friendly.
