Description: Join us for the next installment of FPAN's "Zoom into Archaeology" series: "Forensic Anthropology and the POW/MIA Mission" by University of West Florida Department of Anthropology Assistant Professor Dr. Allysha Winburn. This September, we proud to feature presentations from faculty and researchers at the University of West Florida!

Forensic anthropologists are experts in human biological variation who specialize in the identification of skeletal remains. For decades, an elite cadre of forensic anthropologists and archaeologists have collaborated with the U.S. military to excavate, repatriate, and identify the remains of U.S. service members lost in past conflicts. Dr. Allysha Winburn, formerly of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, will explore the role of forensic anthropology and archaeology in the U.S. mission to recover and identify the fallen.

"Zoom into Archaeology" is a free online series that features a short presentation by an archaeologist via Zoom and an opportunity for participants to ask questions at the end of the presentation. Space is limited, however, and a password will be required for access. RSVP via the link below.
