Zoom into Archaeology: A Storm is Coming

Time: 3:30 pm til 4:30 pm

Location: Online; Central Daylight Time

Description: Join us for the next installment of FPAN's "Zoom into Archaeology" series: "A Storm is Coming - Protecting Archaeological Sites from Extreme Weather in South Florida" by FPAN Regional Director Sara Ayers-Rigsby!

In this talk, we will learn about the impacts of hurricanes, storm surge, and sea level rise on archaeological sites in south Florida. While it is not possible to rescue every archaeological site from severe weather, how do archaeologists analyze and document these sites? If it is feasible to protect a site, what methods can archaeologists use?

This presentation is most appropriate for teens and adults, but is family-friendly.
