Description: The FPAN Archaeology Lab is open to volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers help rough sort artifacts recovered from local archaeological sites. No experience is needed, but all volunteers are given a brief orientation by a professional archaeologist on their first day. Description: Join us for our "Archaeology on Tap" program at Odd Colony Brewing Company to hear Joe Grinnan give his talk "Clotilda: The Search for the Last American Slave Ship." Joe is a Principal Investigator and the Dive Safety Officer for SEARCH, Inc., the nation's highest-capacity, full-service cultural resource management firm. Joe has nine years of professional archaeological experience, joining SEARCH in 2013. He is responsible for overseeing and conducting submerged remote-sensing survey, diver identification, and data recovery projects, as well as maintaining diver safety. Joe has worked on a number of underwater archaeology projects both nationally and internationally. He is actively involved with the project to locate and investigate the wreck of Clotilda in Alabama.
