Ships of Colonial Florida: A Tour through Ship Models
Time: 5:30 pm til 7:30 pm
Location: Voices of Pensacola, 117 E Government St., Pensacola, FL
Description: Beginning with Ponce de Leon's ships of discovery, the various vessels utilized during the Spanish and British colonial periods will be examined in this special educational event with lecturer Steve Harris. Models brought along for the lecture as well as a photo "tour" of model displays built for Florida museums by the presenter will be reviewed. The museum model displays have been the subjects of several magazine and research journal articles. How and why these ships were developed over time will also be discussed.
At 5:30, a social will begin and refreshments will be served. The lecture begins at 6:00
