Finding Balance on the Blackwater Kayak Tour

Time: 10:00 am til 12:00 pm

Location: Bagdad Mill Site Park Kayak Launch, 6952 Cross Street, Milton, FL

Description: Join FPAN and Arcadia Mill Archaeological Site staff as we co-host our first ever kayak tour on the Blackwater River! The "Finding Balance on the Blackwater" tour will last approximately 2 hours and will feature a 1.6-mile kayaking route that explores the amazing ecology and history of just one small stretch of the beautiful Blackwater Maritime Heritage Trail.

This event is FREE and open to the public, but RSVPs are required. Space is limited to 20 participants, so please e-mail Mike Thomin at mthomin@uwf.edu to reserve your spot today! Tour participants will meet at 10:00am at the Bagdad Mill Site Park Kayak Launch (6952 Cross Street, Milton, FL 32583). Once we launch, the tour will make five stops to discover unique natural features of the Blackwater River and the legacies of human interaction and industry over the last two hundred years!

Although we recommend kayaks for this tour, any non-motorized watercraft is welcome (canoes, stand-up paddle boards, etc.). All participants are required to bring their own watercraft. If you need information on renting a kayak, contact mthomin@uwf.edu for local vendors. This tour is recommended for ages 10+.
