Shipwreck Tagging Archaeological Management Program (STAMP) Workshop

Time: 9:00 am til 2:00 pm

Location: Fort Pickens Discovery Center, 1400 Fort Pickens Road, Pensacola Beach, FL

Description: The Shipwreck Tagging and Archaeological Management Program (STAMP) is a public engagement program focused on documenting and monitoring shipwreck sites and disarticulated shipwreck timbers along Florida’s coasts.

Join Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) staff for this fun workshop to learn how to become a STAMP volunteer! We will discuss how archaeological shipwreck sites change over time, how to identify shipwreck timbers, and how volunteers can help archaeologists protect and record these important remnants of our past. This workshop includes presentations in the morning at the Fort Pickens Discovery Center (1400 Fort Pickens Road, Pensacola Beach), a break for lunch, and some site monitoring practice in the afternoon in Gulf Islands National Seashore!

This event is free and open to the public; recommended for ages 16+. To RSVP, e-mail STAMP@fpan.us or call 850-595-0050.
