Archaeology Lab Volunteer Day
Time: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm
Location: FPAN Coordinating Center, 207 East Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32502
Description: The FPAN Archaeology Lab is open to volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers help rough sort artifacts recovered from local archaeological sites. No experience is needed, but all volunteers are given a brief orientation by a professional archaeologist on their first day!

Bulwark by the Bay: The Archaeology of Presidio San Miguel
Time: 10:30 am til 11:00 am
Location: Museum Plaza, Zaragoza St between Jefferson and Tarragona Sts, downtown Pensacola
Description: In the mid 1700s what is now Museum Plaza in downtown Penascola was within the walls of a Spanish fort. Like a window in time, the archaeology of Presidio San Miguel tells us about this bulwark on the bay and the people who relied on it for safety. Meet FPAN staff at the Rose Garden Storytelling Circle in Museum Plaza to learn what archaeologists have uncovered about the first Spanish fort and its multiethnic residents in downtown Pensacola!
