Location: Pioneer Panhandle Settlement, 17869 NW Pioneer Setttlement Rd. Blountstown, FL 32424
Description: Join the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) and the Askew Institute for Multidisciplinary Studies (AIMS) for the seventh meeting regarding the possibility of designating the Florida Panhandle as a National Heritage Area (NHA) and latest updates on the feasibility study. NHAs in the USA are places where historic, cultural, and natural resources combine to form cohesive, nationally important landscapes. Unlike national parks, NHAs are large, lived-in landscapes. A designated NHA receives recurring Federal funding and technical support from the National Park Service.
