Equal Justice Initiative - Community Remembrance Project

Location: Bowden Building, 120 Church Street, Pensacola
Description: The Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) has opened a new memorial to victims of lynching in Montgomery Alabama. They are also encouraging local groups to commemorate local lynching victims and educate their communities about the ways in which lynching contributes to current racial tensions. Race and Reconciliation will start at 5 pm in Plaza Ferdinand by collecting soil to remember the two men who were executed there. The group will move to the Bowden Building at 6 pm for a panel discussion on lynching and how it relates to current issues.
