Florida Panhandle National Heritage Area Planning Meeting

Time: 1:00 pm til 3:00 pm

Location: Governor John W Martin House: 1001 Desoto Park Dr. Tallahassee, FL 32301

Description: Join FPAN and the Askew Institute for Multidisciplinary Studies (AIMS) for the first meeting regarding the possibility of designating the Florida Panhandle as a National Heritage Area (NHA) and initiating a feasibility study. NHAs in the USA are places where historic, cultural, and natural resources combine to form cohesive, nationally important landscapes. Unlike national parks, NHAs are large, lived-in landscapes. Consequently, NHA entities collaborate with communities to determine how to make heritage relevant to local interests and needs. A designated NHA receives recurring Federal funding and technical support from the National Park Service.

RSVP by emailing skhakzad@uwf.edu.

FPAN is co-hosting this event.
