Discover Archaeology Day: Port St. Joe

Time: 10:00 am til 12:00 pm

Location: St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, Port St Joe, FL 32456

Description: Help FPAN celebrate the end of Florida Archaeology Month! Visit us out at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park on Saturday morning to learn about archaeology in your area, pick up informative literature, and find out about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities! Also, bring your artifacts to be identified!

On Saturday afternoon, bring the family to our new History and Archaeology Scavenger Hunt, beginning at the Florida Constitution Convention Museum State Park in the afternoon (see flyer for details).

On Friday evening (March 30), join us for a presentation by University of West Florida graduate student Janene Johnston titled "Archaeology of Florida's Natural Bridge Battlefield" at the St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve.

These events are free and open to the public!

Dash through the Past History and Archaeology Scavenger Hunt

Time: 2:00 pm til 4:00 pm

Location: Constitution Convention Museum State Park, 200 Allen Memorial Way, Port St. Joe, FL

Description: This race along Port St. Joe's walking trails offers individuals or teams of two a chance to compete over a two-mile course for great prizes from local sponsors! Registration starts at 2:00 pm and the hunt begins at 2:30pm! There is no set route or order in which challenges must be completed. Prizes will be awarded based on both a team's completion time and number of correct answers. This year's hunt includes individual routes for ages 10+ and those under 10 years of age.

All ages are welcome; participants under 16 must have a parent or adult guardian participate. A donation of $10.00 includes a reusable aluminum water bottle!
