Archaeology Story Time: "Dave the Potter: Artist, Poet, Slave"

Time: 3:30 pm til 4:30 pm

Location: FPAN Coordinating Center, 207 East Main Street, Pensacola, FL

Description: In honor of Black History Month join Florida Public Archaeology Network staff in enjoying an archaeology story time and hands-on activities, specifically geared for our youngest members of the public! Space is limited for this program, so please register by emailing mthomin@uwf.edu to save your spot!

The story for this event is "Dave the Potter: Artist, Poet, Slave" by Laban Carrick Hill. Kids and parents will learn what archaeology is and why pottery is an important clue for archaeologists today. After the story kids will learn how and why people painted pottery in the past, and paint their own pieces to take home. All families with children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are encouraged to join us! Children must be accompanied by an adult through the duration of this program.

FPAN is hosting this event.
