"Rethinking Colonial FL History in the Digital Age" Presentation

Description: Join us at the Florida Public Archaeology Network Coordinating Center for a public presentation entitled "'Not Even the Devil Could Read this:' Rethinking Colonial Florida History in the Digital Age" by Dr. J. Michael Francis. Dr. J. Michael Francis is Chair of the Department of History and Politics and the Hough Family Chair of Florida Studies in the Florida Studies Program at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg. Learn about a new USFSP initiative to create an interactive digital archive dedicated to Floridas rich and diverse colonial past. The project, entitled La Florida: The Interactive Digital Archive of the Americas, will launch in late 2017. Dr. Francis will discuss the projects initial phase and its long-term plan to create an interactive database that will make Floridas colonial history accessible to a global audience.
