Story Time: "The Temple Cat" and Zooarchaeology
Time: 3:30 pm til 4:30 pm
Location: FPAN Coordinating Center 207 East Main Street, Pensacola
Description: Join Florida Public Archaeology Network staff in enjoying an archaeology story time and hands-on activities, specifically geared for our youngest members of the public! Space is limited for this program, so please register by emailing mthomin@uwf.edu to save your spot!
The story for this event is "The Temple Cat" by Andrew Clements. Parents and their children will discover what archaeology is and how archaeologists can learn how people used animals in the past by studying their remains (zooarchaeology). After the story kids will rough sort artifacts in our public archaeology lab, and before they leave they will create their own animal food chain to take home. All families with children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are encouraged to join us! Children must be accompanied by an adult through the duration of this program.
