"Homo naledi: The Latest Edition to the Human Family Tree"

Time: 5:00 pm til 6:00 pm

Location: UWF Pensacola Campus, Building 13, Room 230, 11000 University Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32514

Description: On Thursday, November 3 at 5:00pm, the UWF Anthropology Department will be hosting Dr. Zach Throckmorton of Lincoln Memorial University. Dr. Throckmorton will be giving a talk on Homo naledi, the fossil species that was recently discovered deep within a cave in South Africa. Dr. Throckmorton is part of the Rising Star Expedition team that was in the news quite a bit last year, and his research specialty is in the anatomy and evolution of the hominin foot.

A 3D-printed H. naledi skull will also be on display at the lecture, along with some other 3D printed fossils from this specimen.

The talk will be held in Building 13, Room 230 (the large lecture hall) of the main UWF campus in Pensacola and is FREE and open to the public!
