The Science and Art of an African Amer. Midwife in 19th-century Mobile

Description: The Healing Women lecture series kicks off with "Catching Babies and Healing Women: The Science and Art of an African American Midwife in 19th Century Mobile," by Dr. Laurie Wilkie, Professor of Archaeology and Chair of the Department of Anthropology, University of California, Berkeley. Co-presented by the Mobile Medical Museum and the University of South Alabama Archaeology Museum, this event is free of charge and intended for general audiences (age 18 and up). It will be held in the auditorium of the Marx Library, University of South Alabama.
