Submerged Sites Education and Awareness (SSEAS) Workshop

Time: 8:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: Tavernier, FL

Description: After taking this 3-day SSEAS program, recreational divers will be trained to recognize historic shipwrecks and cultural sites, to record sites using photography and hand-drawn site plans, and to fill out Florida State archaeological site recording forms.

Once training is complete, SSEAS divers are able to independently perform tasks associated with monitoring and protecting submerged historic sites, and will be armed with the knowledge necessary to search for and record undiscovered shipwrecks in Florida and elsewhere!

Archaeology Day at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement

Time: 12:00 pm til 4:00 pm

Location: 17869 NW Pioneer Settlement Rd, Sam Atkins Park, Blountstown, FL

Description: Join us at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement to learn more about local history and archaeology. Get information, talk to an archaeologist, and bring in your artifacts for identification!
