Pensacola History & Archaeology Summer Camp, Upcoming 4th-6th Grades

Time: 8:30 am til 12:30 pm

Location: Historic Pensacola Village, Downtown Pensacola, FL

Description: Watch the past come alive during this one-week social studies enrichment camp in historic Pensacola. Campers will learn history, archaeology and much more! Pensacola History and Archaeology is now offered twice during the month of June.

Your campers will:
-Discover the history and archaeology of the Pensacola area in engaging, hands-on ways
-Learn what it takes to be a professional historian and archaeologist
-Utilize critical thinking, inference, and deduction skills to conduct original research on historical and archaeological topics
-Work in groups and by themselves to complete daily activities, crafts, and experiments

Arcadia Mill Field School Public Field Lab

Time: 10:00 am til 2:00 pm

Location: Arcadia Mill Archaeological Site, 5709 Mill Pond Lane, Milton, Florida

Description: The UWF Historic Trust invites the community to participate in a volunteer field lab at Arcadia Mill Archaeological Site! The Field lab, provided in partnership with the UWF Division of Anthropology and Archaeology, will be held on Fridays throughout June and Fridays, July 10th and 17th from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

During the lab, volunteers will clean and sort artifacts recovered from ongoing excavations. UWF staff will provide direction and instruction to all participants.

The lab will be in the Arcadia Mill Visitor's Center. All ages are welcome, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
