Archaeology Lab Volunteer Day

Time: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: FPAN Coordinating Center, 207 East Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32502

Description: The FPAN Archaeology Lab is open to volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers help rough sort artifacts recovered from local archaeological sites. No experience is needed, but all volunteers are given a brief orientation by a professional archaeologist their first day.

Public Presentation: "The History and Uses of the Labyrinth"

Time: 7:00 pm til 8:00 pm

Location: UWF Pensacola Campus, University Commons, 11000 University Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32514

Description: Join us to hear a great talk by UWF Associate Professor of History Dr. Marie-Thérèse Champagne. This lecture will be conducted in partnership with the Labyrinth presentation, Feb 9-11. The labyrinth design from the floor of Chartres Cathedral. on painted canvas, will be installed in the Commons Auditorium and will be open to the public for three days: February 9, 10, and 11. Within the auditorium, the interior of the Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame de Chartres (c. 1200) will be recreated. The presentation and lecture are free and open to the public.
