Archaeology Lab Volunteer Day

Time: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: FPAN Coordinating Center, 207 East Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32502

Description: The FPAN Archaeology Lab is open to volunteers throughout the year. Volunteers help rough sort artifacts recovered from local archaeological sites. No experience is needed, but all volunteers are given a brief orientation by a professional archaeologist their first day.

Archaeology Cafe- Glasses Optional: Demonstrating the New Wave of 3D

Time: 6:00 pm til 7:00 pm

Location: Ozone Pizza Pub 1010 North 12th Avenue, Suite 111, Pensacola

Description: Archaeologists are using 3D scanners and 3D printers in new and exciting ways. Join this Archaeology Café to find out how!

The Destination Archaeology Resource Center (DARC) and Ozone Pizza Pub are hosting Archaeology Café on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. Dr. Kristina Killgrove and Dr. Ramie Gougen, associate professors of anthropology at the University of West Florida, will give a short presentation, titled, “Glasses Optional: Demonstrating the New Wave of 3D Archaeology,” followed by an open discussion.

Archaeology Café is held inside Ozone Pizza, located at 1010 N 12th Ave. in Pensacola. It is free and open to the community. Seating is unreserved. Guests are encouraged to support our hosts at Ozone’s by purchasing food and drinks.
