Explore Arcadia Mill Sumer Camp

Description: Upcoming fourth through sixth grade campers will learn about geography, history, archaeology, and historic preservation through lessons that feature hands-on educational crafts, group projects, and outdoor activities.

"A Native American View of the Night Sky" at PSC Planetarium

Location: Pensacola State College’s Planetarium, Building 21, 1000 College Blvd., Pensacola, FL

Description: Celebrate the Summer Solstice and experience a Native American view of the night sky!

The University of West Florida Archaeology Institute is partnering with the PSC Planetarium to present a uniquely Native American view of the night sky prior to European contact.

As celestial events are cast on the planetarium’s domed ceiling, UWF archaeologist Cindy Sommerkamp presents ancient Native American constellations and walks the audience along the path of the Milky Way over the course of a year.
