Third Annual Fire and Earth: 2011 Coastal Pottery Expo

Time: 10:00 am til 4:30 pm

Location: Heritage Park & Cultural Center,139 Miracle Strip Parkway SE, Fort Walton Beach

Description: The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center will host its 3rd annual Fire and Earth: 2011 Coastal Pottery Expo on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fire and Earth will celebrate the ancient art form of pottery and ceramics featuring the many diverse genres, mediums, and styles as displayed by several local artists. Throughout the day award winning potters and ceramic artists will display, sell, and share their work with the public inside the Indian Temple Mound Museum. The event will take place rain or shine.

The exposition will also include free admission to the Indian Temple Mound Museum gallery so that visitors may explore the unique ceramic objects the prehistoric people of the Fort Walton area left behind. Donations are welcome and $1.00 is suggested. The museum gallery features one of the finest collections of prehistoric pottery in the Southeastern United States.

This event is in partnership with Full Circle Art Gallery and Studio and with Musical Echoes Native American Flute and Cultural Festival which takes place on the Fort Walton Landing that same weekend.
