Pensacola Archaeological Society Lecture Series

Description: This month Greg Cook, UWF Archaeology Institute, will present a program about recent investigations of submerged sites on the outer continental shelf of the Gulf of Mexico. In August this year a team of 12 divers from UWF looked at archeological sites located during remote sensing surveys about 20 miles offshore at depths to 105 feet. Sites investigated include modern a U.S. Civil War vessel, U-Boat casualties from World War II and modern shrimper and fishing boats. This presentation is free and open to the public.
