Nine Weeks of Summer: A Living History Program

Time: 1:00 pm til 2:00 pm

Location: Museum of Commerece Classroom, Historic Pensacola Village, Downtown Pensacola

Description: Historic Pensacola Village, located at 205 E. Zaragoza St. in downtown Pensacola, will host a living history program called, “Nine Weeks of Summer,” every Saturday at 1 p.m. until Aug. 21. The event is free to the public and lasts about 45 minutes.

Using dramatic interpretation and storylines, staff will bring to life Pensacola’ s various historic time periods. Visitors are invited to return throughout the summer to discover a personal view of historic Pensacola as told through characters during the Spanish, French, British, American Territorial and Confederate time periods. Jim McMillen, Living History coordinator, explains, “This is different way to breathe life to our city’s history and what its citizens experienced during fascinating events. It will also hopefully open the door to discussion and dialogue.”
