Description: On September 14th from 9am to 12pm the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) will be partnering with the Florida Park Service to offer a FREE Heritage Monitoring Scouts workshop.
Heritage Monitoring Scouts (HMS Florida) is a public engagement program focused on tracking changes to archaeological sites at risk, particularly those impacted by climate change in the form of erosion and sea level rise. The public is encouraged to apply to the program and will receive monthly updates on training and resources available for HMS Florida participants statewide.
This workshop will get you started as a Heritage Monitoring Scout and is open to anybody with an interest in archaeology, but advanced registration is required. To register individuals need to contact Barbara Clark, FPAN Regional Director, at BarbaraAClark@uwf.edu.
