Archaeology Day at the Capitol

Time: 10:00 am til 2:00 pm

Location: 1st Floor Rotunda, Florida Capitol Building

Description: On April 3, from 10am to 2pm various archaeological organizations will meet at the Florida Capitol at the first floor rotunda. The public and our state leaders are welcome to visit to learn about Florida’s unique archaeological heritage and how they can become involved in helping to protect it for future generations. Archaeologists will be on hand with information and to answer questions about their research, programs, and what is currently being done to protect sensitive archaeological sites. rnrnOrganizations in attendance will include those from the Florida Anthropological Society, Florida Archaeological Council, Florida Public Archaeology Network, University of West Florida, Florida State University, the Florida Division of Historical Resources, the Florida Park Service and more! rnrnThis is a great opportunity to learn about how you can become involved in helping archaeologists protect archaeological sites.This is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about all the exciting archaeological research that has been taking place in Florida.
