Forts, Flags and ArtiFacts

Time: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: Fort San Marcos de Apalachee Historic State Park

Description: This year the Annual International Archaeology Day event, now called Forts, Flags and ArtiFacts, will include a Living History Timeline. This event is a celebration of archaeology and heritage, and will once again be held on the same Saturday as the St. Marks Stone Crab Festival and the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge’s Monarch Butterfly Festival. FSU has an out of town football game versus Georgia Tech on the 24th, and FAMU’s does not play that day, so we hope you will make plans to join us for a fun-filled and educational event! State agencies and non-profits will have educational and interactive booths and displays, the fort museum will be open, there will also be free lectures and tours. A trolly will provide transportation between the fort and the St. Marks Stone Crab Festival.
