PAST Monthly Meeting

Time: 7:00 pm til 8:30 pm

Location: B. Calvin Jones Center for Archaeology at the Governor Martin House (1001 DeSoto Park Dr)

Description: BAR Historic Conservator Claire Tindal will discuss a modern approach to the major principles of conservation that inform a conservator’s approach to treating an object. She will briefly outline several of the conservation challenges faced at the BAR Conservation Lab on a regular basis; and demonstrate the application of these principles as they pertained to the conservation of the Natural Bridge Eagle and Martin House Chandelier. As we learned last month, without proper care, objects will cease to exist if they aren’t given the proper treatment or kept in the proper conditions. Please join us to learn more.

The new T-shirts and polos with our PAST logo will again be available at February's meeting. With most colors and sizes still in stock, now is the best time to get the shirt(s) of your choice. The T-shirts ($14) are great for any upcoming work in the field and the polos ($17) are nice for our monthly meetings and special events. The sale of these shirts help support our mission of public outreach and education.
