Community Conversations on Heritage: Cedar Key

Time: 5:00 pm til 7:00 pm

Location: Cedar Key Public Library 460 2nd Street, Cedar Key, Florida 32625

Description: The dramatic impacts from severe weather events, storm surge, and land loss is nothing new to the Nature Coast. Local heritage sites are never immune to these forces, whether they come in the form of erosion, tree fall, or sea-level rise. Please join archaeologists from the Florida Public Archaeology Network and the University of Florida in a community discussion on how to address and tackle the impacts of climate change on our shared local heritage and archaeological sites.
This two-part program will begin at 5:00 pm with a short walk to a nearby at-risk site, followed by a community discussion on how to tackle climate change impacts on local heritage sites.
